COVID-19 Vaccinations

COVID-19 Vaccine Phases

Phase 1B for Vaccinations has begun.

Funeral Service workers are approved in Phase 1B for Colorado's COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan.

Funeral home employees around the state have begun receiving COVID-19 vaccinations.

Here's what CFDA has heard from funeral directors so far:

  • The county public health agency has initiated contact directly with the funeral home and provided instructions to receive vaccinations at an established location.
  • Hospitals have contacted local funeral homes when vaccination supplies are available.
  • Vaccinations are being given by appointment (no walk-ins) and employment verification may be requested. Click here for a form developed by NFDA for this purpose.

Centura Health is following national and state protocols for equitable vaccine allocation. As a community partner with employees who we believe are included in the state 1A and 1B tiers, we would like to offer the opportunity to receive the Covid-19 vaccine at Centura Health.

In order to be included in the Centura Health community partner list, please follow the steps below:

1. Please complete the template (below) for your clinical team.

2. Only include office staff/healthcare clinicians who wish to receive the vaccine and whom have not already received the vaccine elsewhere.

3. Upon completing the attached template and ensuring the content is accurate, please return the completed template to me at: lauriegrove2@centura.org

4. I will promptly submit your spreadsheet to the Centura Health team managing the invitation process who will be in touch with you for next steps.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

How Can Funeral Service Workers Get Vaccinated?

  • Vaccination plans are administered through each county's public health agency.
  • Some LPHAs are coordinating with health care systems to reach out to community partners such as funeral homes.
  • If you have not been contacted by your county's public health agency or hospital in your community, please call your LPHA.
  • Click here for a list of all public health agencies: https://cdphe.colorado.gov/public-information/find-your-local-public-health-agency

Costs: The vaccine will be free, but some providers/pharmacies may ask for insurance so that they can bill for the vaccine administration fee. Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance will cover the cost of the COVID-19 vaccines. In addition, uninsured Coloradans will have access to free vaccines.
