CFDA represents hundreds of dedicated, experienced and compassionate professionals who provide death care services in the State of Colorado.

What does CFDA do?

  • Provides regular updates on current trends and issues that impact funeral service practitioners and businesses.
  • Presents learning sessions to refresh knowledge about Colorado funeral service laws and practical skills.
  • Answers questions and provides assistance to consumers about the importance of funeral service.
  • Promotes practical and ethical standards for funeral service practitioners in Colorado.
  • Monitors legislation and regulatory issues that impact funeral service practitioners and businesses.
  • Advocates for the profession of Funeral Service with state government and regulatory agencies.
  • Engages funeral service practitioners from around the state through networking activities and town hall discussions.

CFDA is facing financial challenges and economic hardships like many other businesses and organizations during the coronavirus pandemic. As a non-profit organization, the association relies on revenues from membership, learning events and the CFSB credentialing program to maintain its operations. Without a Convention or seminars, this year's income will fall well below the levels needed to sustain our mission and objectives.

Membership dues is necessary to maintain the strength, credibility and resources needed to represent and serve Colorado's funeral service profession this year and in the future.

Ensure your business can rely on CFDA as a trusted advisor and advocate.

Please take action NOW and join CFDA.

Thank You to Colorado's #LastResponders

CFDA launched a new membership structure beginning in 2019. Membership is now open to Individuals as well as establishment Locations and Allied businesses. Practitioners who work in various roles throughout the funeral service profession can now join CFDA as a Professional Member.

CFDA Membership and CFSB Certification are NOT the same thing.

Membership in CFDA provides benefits like the ability to engage in committees and special interests groups, serve in a leadership capacity with the association, and attend CFDA-sponsored education programs with free or low cost registration.

Certification is a recognition that you have met certain qualifications based on your education, training and work experience. Certification does not entitle you to the benefits of membership noted above.

Ideally, you can be BOTH -- a CFDA Member and a CFSB certified practitioner. You can be a CFDA Member without being certified by the Colorado Funeral Service Board, and you can be CFSB certified without being a CFDA Member.

Please consider joining CFDA as a Professional Member AND renew your certification credential for the Colorado Funeral Service Board.

We're excited to unveil the new CFDA website with a host of new features. Join CFDA and create your personalized member profile, renew your membership online, register for events, see your transaction history, and self-report education activities. We hope you'll take a test drive.

Launching a brand new website is an exciting, yet complicated process. The AMO system offers a host of new features based on a personal user profile and you must establish a user name and password to access the Member Center.

The key to access is your Membership in CFDA. Join CFDA as a Professional Member and you will complete the online application form and submit your membership dues. After membership is approved, your member profile will be activated and you can create a password to access the Member Center.

Remember that CFSB Certification renewal is NOT membership and doesn't grant the same access or benefits of Professional Members.

There has never been a better time to get involved in your profession. CFDA needs you! Join a CFDA committee and expand your sphere of influence.
