Announcement Detail

July 6 | Protect Our Neighbors

The State of Colorado is entering a new phase of its public health framework. Protect Our Neighbors plan was drafted in partnership with local public health agencies with extensive input from local elected officials, the business community, the healthcare community, and the general public. The aim of the Protect Our Neighbors phase is to tightly pair the level of reopening with the level of underlying preparedness.

Counties must submit a mitigation and containment plan and may qualify by meeting scientifically established thresholds;

  • Low disease transmission levels;
  • Local public health agency capacity for testing, case investigation, contact tracing, and outbreak response, and
  • Hospital ability to meet the needs of all patients and handle the surge in demand for intensive hospital care.

If the county is approved for Protect Our Neighbors, communities may permit activities at 50% of pre-pandemic capacity, with at least 6 feet between non-household members, and no more than 500 people in one setting at a time.
