The Colorado Funeral Directors Association is a voluntary, non-profit association established in 1898 to advance the economic and professional interests of Colorado's funeral directors and the funeral service industry they represent. CFDA members are funeral establishments such as funeral homes, mortuaries and crematories, and suppliers of funeral-service related products and services.

Every person will someday be in need of services from a qualified funeral service professional, regardless of race, creed, religion or other demographic group. On a daily basis, funeral service professionals serve and comfort bereaved family members while caring for their deceased loved ones. They meet with families at a potentially vulnerable time. Families must place a great deal of trust in the funeral service professional to carryout their instructions and wishes.

CFDA is a strong advocate for standards of practice and ethics for funeral establishments and crematories and strives to preserve the dignity, respect and integrity of the hundreds of honorable funeral professionals who practice in the State of Colorado.

The Colorado Funeral Service Board (CFSB) is a certification program administered by the CFDA for the advancement of professionalism within the funeral service industry in Colorado. CFSB certification is strictly voluntary and individuals may apply for a number of professional certifications. There are more than 200 individuals currently certified by the Colorado Funeral Service Board.
